1933 Lupita Tequila Cocktail Recipe – Cocktails After Dark

1933 Lupita Tequila Cocktail Recipe – Cocktails After Dark
Prior to WW2 there are very few Tequila cocktails / Mezcal cocktails listed in any of the cocktail books; even the Spanish language Mexican published cocktail books avoid using tequila in cocktails. So this cocktail is very rare for its time period – but you can see the origins of a lot of later tequila cocktails in this recipe.

Lupita Cocktail:
Tequila or Mezcal, 4 parts
Lime juice, 2 teaspoons
Grenadine, 2 teaspoons
Stir gently with ice, strain into glasses; serve. This recipe makes 4 cocktails.
