BAKED DONUTS with Quick CHOCO GLAZE RECIPE | Soft Chocolate Glazed Donuts | BAKED NOT FRIED

Can donuts be baked? YES! But Baked Donuts differs a lot from the Fried ones. This is the same exact dough recipe I used in my Sweet Glaze Fried Donut ➡️Link here https://youtu.be/sy5SUhSaZwY

✔️Dough
1 cup [240 ml] fresh milk
1 egg
3 tbsp [38 grams] sugar
2 tsp [6 grams] instant yeast
2 & 1/2 cups [320 grams] all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp [30 grams] margarine / butter

✔️Choco Glaze (good for 6-8 pcs. depending on the donut size)
250 grams compound chocolate
1-2 tbsp soft/melted butter

*add any of your favorite toppings

✴️BAKE @ 180C for around 20 mins. (time may depend on the oven specification.)

✏️I tried this baked donut version to give more of a comparison between Baked & Fried which are as follows;👇

1. SHAPE: Great rise & smooth round shape can be achieved on fried donuts, while baked donuts have a giod rise and round too but have flat bottom surface since its just sitting on a baking pan.

2. EXTERIOR: Fried donuts have a slight rough / crunchy golden brown exterior texture, while Baked donut have light & soft texture and is more comparable to a soft bread / bun exterior texture.

3. INTERIOR: Fried donuts are puffy, light, soft & sometimes chewy, while Baked donuts are soft & fluffy too & again more comparable to a soft bread / bun interior.

4: TASTE (without the glaze): Plain fried donuts have a distinctive authentic good taste, while baked ones tastes good too. Both are good actually.

5. Baked donuts can be healthier than the fried ones since you can get rid of the oil. ☺️

⁉️EVERY FLOUR ABSORBS LIQUID DIFFERENTLY DUE TO ITS PROTEIN AMOUNT & QUALITY. SO IF YOUR DOUGH TURNED OUT TOO WET & SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNEAD, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD FLOUR TO ACHIEVE THE SAME DOUGH CONSISTENCY.

FYI: brand of all purpose flour is “HAPPY GRAINS”, which can match exactly the recipe measurement☺️.
