Recipe :

Custard Cream French Toast
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 2

Ingredients:
8 Bread slices
1 Unsliced Bread Loaf
500ml milk
100g butter
1 tsp Vanilla essence
3 tbsp custard powder
1 cup Sugar
2 eggs/ 2 tbsp custard powder
½ cup icing sugar
Strawberries (optional)

Method:
Heat 300 milk, reserving ½ cup on the side. Add half the sugar and bring to a boil. Dissolve the custard powder in the remaining milk. And add to the boiling milk. Stir well and cook till the custard thickens to a pudding consistency. Cover the custard with 1 tbsp butter and cool completely.
In a flat bowl, whisk together the remaining milk, sugar, vanilla essence and eggs.
Spread the cooled custard in a thick layer over 4 slices of bread. Cover with remaining breads. Dip the sandwiched bread in the batter.
Spread some butter on the pan and cook the French toast till golden on both the sides.
Remove and serve with a sprinkling of icing sugar and strawberries.
