Hi. My name’s Damian. I’m a bartender here at Liquid Kitty in West LA California. And we’re gonna talk a little bit about Mudslide. The mudslide goes back to the 30’s in the Cayeman Islands. It was developed by a bartender who was trying to make a blended drink that tasted like a dessert for one of the regular customers at the bar. It’s traditionally made blended. It can be made on the rocks, it can be made just layered like a B52. but a mudslide kahlua, Baileys and Vodka. And when you finish it off, you’re gonna finish it with whip cream and powdered chocolate on top. At the kitty we don’t have that but I’m gonna make it for you blended here. And we make blended drinks in Napoli grande glass which is a rather tall glass and if you want to make the proper proportions when you’re making it in a blender, I recommend filling the glass with ice first. So fill this with ice and once you get the right amount of ice in the glass, you put it in the blender. Your proportions are gonna be fine. You just want to fill it where the ice is in the blender. It’s gonna come out to about an ounce and a half of each Liquor. Start with kahlua.
[1 ½ oz of Kahlua]
[KAHLUA is crafted from the finest ingredients that grew side by side in rural Veracruz, Mexico shade grown, hand selected 100% arabica coffee beans and sugar cane.]
Bailey’s. [1 ½ oz of Bailey’s irish Cream]
If you don’t know how to free-pour, I recommend having those little jiggers to fill and measure your pours.
And then vodka. [1 ½ oz of Vodka]
So just when you get to the top of the ice, that’s when you know you have enough alcohol in there. We’ll start the blender on low and towards the end, give it a little extra juice. Just pour it into your glass, straw and there’s your mudslide.
