How To Make the BEST FROZEN MARGARITA! | Summer Cocktail Recipes

A summer classic, it is the MARGARITA. The Frozen version of the Margarita is certainly a big hitter in the USA along with the classic Margarita as any Tequila lover can vouch. It is zesty, refreshing, and simple to make. Welcome to Summer cocktail number 3 the Frozen Margarita.

Dallas, Texas lays claim to the Frozen Margarita, as it is thought to be created in 1971 in 7-Eleven. They was looking for a way to get the perfect balance of the frozen tequila cocktail, to please all guests as it either melted by time it was served or unmeasured. The slurpee machine made all the difference as they could make it large quantites at the correct temperature. Mariano Martinez you genius for the Tex Mex as who would have thought a slurpee machine would create this masterpiece?

Ingredients (Recipe):
– 60ml (2oz) Blanco Tequila
– 22.5ml (3/4oz) Cointreau or Triple Sec
– 30ml (1oz) Freshly squeezed lime juice
– 15ml (1/2oz) Agave Syrup (Nectar) Optional
– Salt for a rimmed glass
– Lime slice for a garnish

Steps (How to Make):
1. Fill a blender with 10-15 ice cubes.
2. Pour in the ingredients.
3. Blend for 20 seconds or until smooth. Add more ice if it is liquidy.
4. Rim your margarita glass with salt.
5. Pour into the glass.
6. Garnish with a lime slice.

That is the frozen Margarita with my added extra of the agave syrup as I think it gets the best results taste as it nicely balances out the tartiness of the lime juice to get the perfect balance.

One of the classics and you can see why it it is still popular over 50 years later. It is a 9/10 for me and one my best cocktails so far for the summer cocktail series.
